Between points 3 and 4, you are on the road that French king François 1st took to go hunting in the 16th century.

– Turn to the left as you leave the car park, passing in front of the church. Continue for 150 m then go straight ahead towards “Le Pavillon”. Continue through the Mézières woods. As you head downhill, you pass La Vaucelle pond on your right.

– Turn left on the D8 road (mind the traffic) and follow it for 1 km. Be careful to walk where oncoming cars can see you.

– Turn left, heading up the rocky path in the footsteps of François 1st. Carry straight on for 1 km until you reach a junction in the woods.

– At the junction, turn left onto a path for 600 m, passing a pond, to the edge of the woods. Follow it straight through the fields to the hamlet of Corville.

– At Corville, turn left onto the C2 road After walking up the Guiletot Woods rise, turn left onto a path for 400 m, then take the first right onto a path leading to the Croix aux Prussiens (Prussian Cross). Continue straight ahead on the D117 road towards Mézières-en-Vexin, until you reach the hamlet of Surcy.

– At the Surcy signpost, head towards the town centre. Go past the first junction, Ruelle de la Perelle, and turn left onto the Sentier de la Messe footpath. Follow it to the D8 road. Turn left towards Mézières-en-Vexin and head for the church to return to the car park.
