DAY 1 IN VERNON

On your first day, take the time to appreciate the town of Vernon. Take a stroll around or follow the tourist circuit from Place Barette (town hall, collegiate church) to the legendary Vieux Moulin (Old Mill), via the Archives Tower. Fall under the charm of the authentic medieval streets and timber-frame houses.

On the way, stop off at the town’s museum, which showcases the Impressionists. Don’t miss its animal art gallery and drawing studio.

After lunch, head to Château de Bizy. Its elegant style will probably remind you of the Palace of Versailles, which inspired it. You will also fall in love with its stables and vast park, its fountains and its century-old trees.

 

DAY 2 IN GIVERNY

From Vernon, head to Giverny by bike via ‘La Seine à vélo’ and the greenway.

At 84 Rue Claude Monet, you will find this painter’s house. As you enter the gardens, which inspired much of his work, you will be captivated by the fragrances, colours and light. 

Museum of Impressionisms

In the afternoon, discover the unique exhibition at the Giverny Museum of Impressionisms. This resolutely modern museum shows you the power and diversity of Impressionism.

DAY 3 IN L'EURE VALLEY OR L'EPTE VALLEY

Get your fill of fresh air and nature by going on a kayaking trip (rural-style on the Epte, rustic-style on the River Eure or majestic-style on the River Seine, the choice is yours!), or why not go hiking on one of our must-see trails?

 

Pacy-sur-Eure

After getting your breath back, delve into the world of railways and trains of yesteryear, in Pacy-sur-Eure. Climb aboard to appreciate the unique panoramas over the valley, shaped by the winding flow of the River Eure, or simply enjoy a meal. A guaranteed vintage atmosphere!

DAY 4 IN LES ANDELYS

Château-Gaillard aux Andelys

Head to Château Gaillard, Richard the Lionheart’s iconic fortress, and enjoy a guided tour detailing the history of France. At the top, take in the breathtaking panorama. A perfect photo opportunity!  

 

Petit-Andely

Walk down to ‘Petit-Andely’ and stroll through the district (and consider partaking in the virtual walking tour). You will be won over by the beauty of the banks of the River Seine, art galleries, shops and medieval timber-frame houses.

Grand-Andely 

 
A little further on, in ‘Grand-Andely’, don’t miss the impressive Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame and the Nicolas Poussin Museum. Located in an old mansion, it traces the history of Les Andelys and highlights its rich regional heritage.
